With rich marbling and unparalleled flavour, Wagyu deserves care — and with these simple steps, you’ll achieve a perfect result every time.

Whether you're firing up a Weber BBQ or using your favourite kitchen cookware, this guide ensures your Porterhouse stays tender, juicy, and beautifully seared.

Before You Begin

  • Bring your 250 gm Wagyu Porterhouse to room temperature
  • Have olive oil spray, sea salt flakes, and a knob of butter ready
  • Preheat your BBQ or pan to 220°C

How to Cook the Perfect Porterhouse

  1. Prep the Grill & Steak
Spray the preheated grill with olive oil. Lightly coat your Porterhouse in olive oil and season generously with sea salt flakes.
  2. Sear the First Side
Place the steak on the grill, salted side down.
Spray the top with olive oil, season again with sea salt, and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Flip & Butter Baste
Flip the steak, add a knob of butter, and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Check for Doneness
Look for a strong, even sear.
When pressed gently, the steak should feel firm but not rubbery, with clear juices appearing.
  5. Rest & Enjoy
Let the Porterhouse rest for 2 minutes before slicing.
Serve immediately — and enjoy Wagyu at its best.
