Before You Begin
- Bring your 250 gm Wagyu Porterhouse to room temperature
- Have olive oil spray, sea salt flakes, and a knob of butter ready
- Preheat your BBQ or pan to 220°C
How to Cook the Perfect Porterhouse
- Prep the Grill & Steak
Spray the preheated grill with olive oil. Lightly coat your Porterhouse in olive oil and season generously with sea salt flakes. - Sear the First Side
Place the steak on the grill, salted side down.
Spray the top with olive oil, season again with sea salt, and cook for 2 minutes. - Flip & Butter Baste
Flip the steak, add a knob of butter, and cook for another 2 minutes. - Check for Doneness
Look for a strong, even sear.
When pressed gently, the steak should feel firm but not rubbery, with clear juices appearing. - Rest & Enjoy
Let the Porterhouse rest for 2 minutes before slicing.
Serve immediately — and enjoy Wagyu at its best.
