Our Embryos
Our embryo selection is primarily driven by Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs), though we also recognise that anecdotal evidence can highlight promising young sires before the data fully reflects their potential. While we continue to maintain a strong Fullblood program, our primary focus has shifted toward developing a high-marbling Polled line, utilising some of Olive Grove’s finest Polled genetics as donors.
Available Embryos
We have progressed from the chemically intensive MOET method to modern IVF. Since partnering with Amelia Rentz at Evogene in 2024, we have achieved an impressive 65% average pregnancy rate, alongside over 80% success with TWX PS1506 (Snowball). Amelias engaged, holistic approach as a talented and forward-thinking embryologist has been instrumental in these outcomes.

Why Embryo Transfer?
Embryo Transfer (ET) enables early genetic improvement and offers a powerful way to accelerate progress within a herd. IVF in particular, has become a less invasive, highly effective alternative to traditional methods.
We have observed that calves born to recipient cows often outperform their naturally born siblings. Fullblood dams may struggle to support a growing calf, whereas recipients with strong maternal values gives the ET calf a better start, ensuring key traits like marbling are fully expressed.
When Wagyu calves experience setbacks early in life, traits such as marbling, often fall short of their genetic potential. With ET, we are not just preserving but enhancing elite genetics with every generation.
